The Under the Sea Hat is the perfect lightweight cabled hat from Malabrigo's Book 20: Modern Accessory Style.  Roll up the brim's ribbed edge for a tight fit or leave it down for a slouchy silhouette. Great for experienced knitters.  Matching cowl also available here!  All patterns from the book may be made on Mechita or Sock by Malabrigo.

RECOMMENDED YARN: Mechita by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/420yds): 1 Skein. Mechita is a washable single ply, super soft merino wool yarn in kettle dyed colors.

RECOMMENDED YARN: Sock by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/440yds): 1 Skein.  Shown in Under the Sea.  Sock is a light fingering weight plied yarn with great resiliency and strength due to its high twist.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Circumference - 19.75" (unstretched) x 9.75" tall
YARDAGE: 300 yds
SKILL LEVEL: Advanced - cables

NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4mm 32" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge
OTHER TOOLS: 9 similar Stitch Markers & 1 BOR marker, Cable needle, & Tapestry Needle
GAUGE: 20 sts x 35 rows = 4" in rib stitch when stretched
