This new release by Laura Aylor, the designer behind Fogbound Knits is as elegant as it is warm.  This is a big, cozy shawl in rustic, soft yarn with a lace arabesque detail (intricate but easy to work) surrounded by simple garter stitch. Winter Cardinal is worked on the bias in worsted weight yarn for maximum coziness.  The lace section is both charted and written.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Shepherd's Wool Worsted by Stonehenge Fiber Mill (100% Merino Wool; 113g/250yds): 4 Skeins

ALTERNATE YARN: Rios by Malabrigo  (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210 yds): 4 Skeins.  Rios is kettle-dyed so that the finished garment has a mottled or variegated look like the images.  This yarn is washable and is the softest of the possible selections.
