It's never too early to start planning the festivities, especially when it comes to handcrafting the perfect gift!  The Snowflower can be crafted into a beautiful, large scarf or a cozy cowl, and features ten exquisite fair isle motifs.  This heirloom neck wrap features arabesques, geometric patterns, and filigree in 8 beautiful colors of Felted Tweed DK.  This piece is designed by Martin Storey who is best known for creating designs that feature breathtaking colorwork.

Join the Knit Along which started on the Aug. 31st!  Please sign up here to receive the pattern and the weekly information.  The KAL will start on August 31st and continue for 10 weeks with just enough extra time to guarantee a Christmas delivery to your special someone.  Each of the ten motifs will be released weekly, from Aug 31st to November 2nd, with the Cast-Off Party on November 21st, allowing you to enjoy the knitting process while gradually working towards a breathtaking finished piece.

DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Felted Tweed DK by Rowan (50% Merino Wool / 25% Rayon / 25% Alpaca; 50g/191yds): 2 Skeins in each color Color A, B, E & F, & 1 Skein in each color Colors C, D, G & H. Shown in Amethyst, Camel, Bilberry, Stone, Iolite, Clay, Frozen & Cinnamon.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Scarf - 74" long x 12.25" wide & Cowl - 59.75" long x 12.25" wide
YARDAGE: 1,528-1,700 total yards.  You will have yarn leftover.
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate-colorwork, seaming.  Each block is a combination of Fair-Isle and Intarsia colorwork to reduce long floats on the back of the project.

NEEDLES: Size US 5 / 3.75mm 16" or 20" circular needle & US 3 / 3.25mm 16" or 20" circular needle or Double Points in each size (optional), or size needed to obtain gauge 
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch Markers, Tapestry Needle
GAUGE: 26 sts x 27 rows = 4" in patterned stockinette stitch (blocked) on larger needle.
