The Shh! Shawl is a cozy sister to the Shh! Wrap featuring carefree garter stitch and a touch of lace. Extra increase stitches at the edges give the shawl a generous wingspan, ideal for wrapping around yourself.

This shawl starts with a simple garter-stitch triangle. When the triangle is deep enough, leaves begin to grow down the center in a field of stockinette. The shawl finishes with a ribbon of garter stitch with pretty eyelet accents.

Although the pattern calls for aran-weight yarn, you can easily substitute worsted or DK. Just choose an appropriate needle size and repeat the lace rows until you are happy with the dimensions.  Fully written instructions are provided, along with one optional chart.

     Worsted Weight

    DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Kathmandu Aran by Queensland Collection (85% Merino Wool / 10% Silk / 5% Cashmere; 100g/208 yds): 3 Skeins.  This aran weight yarn is a lovely tweed.  PRE-ORDER now available in any color.  Please allow at least 7 business days for your yarn to arrive at your location.

    ALTERNATE YARN: Harborside Aran by Brown Sheep Co.  (100% Columbian and Rambouillet Wool; 100g/162 yds): 4 Skeins. This classic aran weight yarn is made in the USA and available in beautiful heathers.  It is not as soft as merino wool, but is still a soft and lofty staple yarn.

    ALTERNATE YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210 yds): 4 Skeins. Rios is available in minimally variegated to boldly contrasting, washable colors.  4 ply yarn from Peru/Uruguay. Use color Camel to closely match photographs.

    ALTERNATE YARN: Woolstok by Blue Sky Fibers (100% Fine Highland Wool; 50g/123 yds): 6 Skeins. Woolstok is a heathered yarn with a beautifully soft hand.  Very durable, staple yarn from Peru. Springy 2 ply yarn.  Yarn Loop will send 150g skeins if available to minimize weaving in ends.
