Large but delicate cables create a subtle, eye-catching texture on this wonderful cozy wrap. The bands of cables are framed by ribbing, and grow seamlessly in and out of the ribbed tips of the shawl.  The pattern is written for a single ply fingering weight held together with a fluffy lace weight yarn.  It is easily adjustable if you wish to use a different weight of yarn or make a smaller or larger shawl according to the yardage you have available.

The Old Rose Color is specially designed just for this new collection from Lisa Hannes, and it is the perfect backdrop to Old Rose Socks & Old Rose Hat (click the link to see more!)

Old Rose Wrap is a long sideways-knit shawl. Start knitting at one tip (short edge), then work across to the opposite tip, creating an elongated tapered shape.  Fully written row-by-row as well as charted instructions are provided.

Old Rose is a limited edition colorway and may sell out quickly, especially the mohair line.  We will contact you if a substitution is necessary (using either Rowan Kidsilk Haze or Baah Halo yarns; color samples will be provided for approval before anything is mailed).

Fingering Weight Yarn

 
RECOMMENDED YARN: Mechita by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/420yds): 2 Skeins.  Mechita is a single ply yarn that is kettle dyed in small batches to create the beautiful variegated colors. -AND- Mohair by Malabrigo (72% Mohair / 28% Silk; 25g/229yds):  4 Skeins.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 91" wingspan x 22.5" tall at centerline
YARDAGE: Mechita (fingering weight) - 190 g = 730 m / 798 yds & Mohair (lace weight) - 87 g = 731 m / 797 yds
SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate - knitting with 2 yarns held together, cables

NEEDLES: US 8 / 5mm 24" circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge. 
OTHER TOOLS: Stitch Markers, Cable Needle & Tapestry Needle
GAUGE: 20 sts x 25 rows = 4" in Cable Rib Stitch, after blocking.  Gauge is not critical for this project, but differences will affect yardage requirements and the finished size.
