Nautilo is an unusually shaped cowl that drapes down the front, forming an echo of the nautilus shape. The design features simple short row wedges which naturally curve under along the bottom edge, and the top edge is turned down. Worked flat and seamed, the pattern is suitable for worsted or aran weight yarns. Instructions are written, no charts. Note that this design should not be stretched during blocking.
"I have recently been admiring the simplicity and sleek shapes in Italian design. My new patterns, Nautilo and Decorati reflect this inspiration, and are the first designs in a series which will be coming in the next few months. Hope you enjoy these!" -Melanie Rice

Worsted/Aran Weight
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Superwash Merino Worsted Twist by Cloudborn (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/220yds): 2 Skeins. Shown in Shaela Heather.
ALTERNATE WORSTED YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 3 (3) Skeins. Rios is a washable, wonderfully soft merino wool yarn with subtle to striking variegation. For this pattern, we have selected colorways with subtle tonal variation so as not to compete with the design of the piece.
ALTERNATE WORSTED YARN: O-Wash Worsted by O-Wool (100% Washable Organic Merino Wool; 100g/206 yds: 3 (3) Skeins. Environmentally friendly, spun and dyed in the USA from certified organic merino wool from South America. Unlike conventional superwash processes which are rather aggressive, O-Wash uses a GOTS certified organic compound to create washability. This compound holds the wool fibers in place during washing and drying, preventing them from interlocking during agitation which is what causes shrinkage and felting. In Solid colorways.
ALTERNATE WORSTED YARN: Woolstok by Blue Sky Fibers (100% Fine Peruvian Highland Wool; 50g/123 yds): 4 (5) Skeins. This soft Peruvian yarn is hand washable and available in beautiful solid colors.
