L'Etoile du Nord Sweater by Mary Pranica

Named for the Minnesota state motto, the L’Etoile Du Nord Sweater is a colorwork lovers’ dream. Stars and moons are the main motifs featured in this modern incarnation of a traditional Fair Isle sweater. Yarn Loop suggests using the 2-Handed Knitting Technique to make the colorwork zoom by and fly off the needles.

Piece is worked in the round on a circular needle. When working sleeves, change to double pointed needles when stitches no longer fit comfortably on circular needle.

Worsted Weight

RECOMMENDED YARN: Woolstok Worsted by Blue Sky Fibers (100% Fine Highland Wool; 100g/123 yds): 9 (10, 12, 13, 14) (15, 17, 18, 19) Skeins in Color A, 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) (3, 3, 3, 4) Skeins in Color B, 1 (1, 1, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2) Skeins in Color C, 1 (1, 2, 2, 2) (2, 2, 2, 2) Skeins in Color D, & 1 hank E. Shown in Midnight Sea, Highland Fleece, Thermal Spring, Spring Ice & Spun Gold. We will substitute 150g skeins if available in a matching dye lot.

NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4.0mm & US 4 / 3.5mm 16" & 24" or longer Circular Needles & Set of Double Points in each size, or size needed to obtain gauge
