This pattern is a favorite for Malabrigo yarn lovers! Yarn Loop is happy to add this pattern in both Rios and Merino Worsted. This is the official pattern for Shetland Wool Week 2015, an event held every year in Shetland to celebrate Shetland wool and it’s associated crafts. Baa-ble Hat is knitted in Shetland Aran weight yarn at a fairly tight gauge making a warm and cozy hat, good for keeping your ears warm in the Shetland (or Chicago) wind! It is a quick knit and it makes an ideal introduction to Fair Isle & colorwork.
Kit includes ADULT pattern and selected yarn in half skein hanks: Main Color (MC1) Ribbing-105 yds, Main Color (MC2) Sky-105 yds, Contrasting Color (CC1) White Sheep-105 yds, Contrasting Color (CC2) Black-70 yds. If you would prefer full skeins, select the Multiple Hats option.

Worsted/Aran Weight
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Shetland Heather Aran by Jamieson's (100% Shetland Wool; 50g/101yds): 4 Skeins. Shown in Autumn 998, Natural White 104, Natural Black 101, Highland Mist 1309.
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Shetland Aran Worsted by Jamieson & Smith (100% Shetland Wool; 50g/67yds): 5 Skeins. Shown in Peat, Snaa White, Coll Black, Silver Grey
ALTERNATE YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 4 Skeins
ALTERNATE YARN: Merino Worsted by Malabrigo (100% Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 4 Skeins. Merino Worsted is closest to specified yarn of designer. It is not a superwashed yarn so it will felt if you so choose. Rios has a tight twist making it more durable with less pilling but not as fluffy or poofy. Both yarns are provided as wonderful options with slightly different finished pieces.
ALTERNATE YARN: Sweater by Spud & Chloë (55% Superwash Wool / 45% Certified Organic Cotton; 100g/160yds): 4 Skeins. This is a very soft and fluffy yarn with superb solid coloring. Like Rios it has a plied twist so it should wear well for a long time. This yarn is selected for the warmer climates of the Southern United States due to the lower wool content.
NEEDLES: Size US 6 / 4.0mm & US 7 / 4.5mm circular needles and/or Set of Double Point Needles, or size needed to obtain gauge

A note from Yarn Loop-It is highly recommended that bright colors of Malabrigo are soaked to remove extra dye before making the hat. Bleeding has been known to happen with highly saturated colors, and you probably don't want green sheep.
