This beautiful pattern by Melanie Berg was originally released in 2016, but with recent 2024 Knit Along, it has gained popularity. Bold bud or fan stitches accentuate colorful stripes across this triangular shawl, and a large tassel can also be joined at the center for added delight. Lehigh is made of Rios, Malabrigo's variegated, superwash merino wool which is a dream to knit.
Shawl is worked from the triangle point, with increases worked each side on every row up to the top edge.

Worsted Weight
DESIGNER RECOMMENDED YARN: Rios by Malabrigo (100% Superwash Merino Wool; 100g/210yds): 4 Skeins Color A & 2 Skeins Color B. Shown in Whole Grain and Sagittarius. Rios is a superwash, kettle dyed yarn with easy care cleaning instructions. It flows smoothly through your fingers and is soft Merino Wool. Since Rios is kettle-dyed, there is a slight to bold color variation that makes a mottled effect in the finished garment.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 104" wingspan x 21" at centerline
YARDAGE: total of 1,260 yds between Colors A & B
NEEDLES: Size US 7 / 4.5mm 36" or longer circular needle, or size needed to obtain gauge

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate - knitted bud stitch, increases, color changes
GAUGE: 16 sts x 40 rows = 4" in garter stitch with placed bud pattern
